A push-up is a moving plank. The moment your torso stops working as one unit, the exercise changes — and usually gets easier in a way that shortchanges you.

One straight line from head to heels — the torso moves as a single unit.

The usual suspects

  • Hips sagging (loss of the plank line)
  • Flaring elbows to 90° from the torso
  • Half reps — not reaching a full bottom
  • Head craning forward
  • Speeding up as fatigue hits

OurFit scopes each of these to the right phase of the rep, so you're not penalized for the natural shape of the movement — only for the actual fault.
